My name is Karl Bitz and I have recently graduated Cornell University with a B.S. in Applied Economics and Management.
I enjoy following current events, listening to music, being outdoors, and occasionally playing guitar. I’m always reading, everything from novels to popular economics books, and myriad news feeds in Google Reader. I also enjoy travelling and am not ashamed to admit that I use a guidebook. In fact, I highly recommend the guidebooks by Rick Steve to anyone travelling to Europe. With good luck, my next adventure will be Alaska this coming May. A list of books I’m reading or have read recently can be found here, as well as articles or things on the internet I’ve posted to Pinboard, found here.
Besides working, finding a more permanent line of work and doing the things above, I am working on several web site projects, including porting all of my hosting over to Slicehost. Not being more than a casual linux user has made this process interesting, however, SH's extensive tutorials have been a big help, and it's good to learn the platform. The first of these projects is live - Bitz for Congress. I will have more details on my other projects in the future.
